
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program
Alberta operates the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP) that nominates people for permanent residence. Nominees must have skills to fill job shortages or be planning to buy or start a business in Alberta . They must also be to provide for their families . If you are nominated through the program, you may apply for permanent residence status under different streams.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP) accepts applications under five main immigration stream. Below we provide you with additional information about each of these streams to help you determine if the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP) is right for you.
SKILLS IMMIGRATION
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP) Immigration is divided into a number of five main streams:
Alberta Opportunity stream
The Alberta Opportunity stream (AOS) is for temporary foreign workers who are already working full-time in Alberta and have a full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in an eligible occupation. Candidates must have a approved labour market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or hold one of the LMIA exemption work permit.
Eligible applicants :
1. At the time of application mailed to AINP or submitted in the AINP portal, and at the time of the assesses your application, you must have a valid work permit- not implied status , automatic extension of status, or restoration status-for an eligible occupation.
2.A minimum of Canadian Language benchmark(CLB) level of 4 or 5 depending on occupation.
3. A minimum of high school degree.
4. A minimum of one year working experience in Alberta in the last 18 months, or a minimum of 2 years of work experience in Canada in the last 30 months.
Alberta Express Entry stream
The Alberta Express entry stream allows Alberta to nominate a limited number of qualified candidates from immigration, Refugees and citizenship Canada’s Express Entry system. Candidates who have demonstrated strong ties to Alberta or who can help support the government’s economic development and diversification priorities may be asked to submit an application. International graduates from Canadian post-secondary institutions may also be asked to apply under this stream.
Eligible applicants :
1.Must be in the Express Entry pool.
2.A minimum of Canadian Language benchmark(CLB) level of 300
3.Must be working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification.
4.Must be able to settle in Alberta permanently.
Self-Employed Farmer stream
This stream is for entrepreneurs who have the financial resources and farm management experience to establish a new or purchase an existing farm in Alberta. Candidates must submit their application, along with a proposed business plan, to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP) for assessment . The AINP will consult with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry to ensure the business plan is feasible and viable, and meets the needs of Alberta ‘s agriculture forestry.
Eligible applicants :
1.An applicant must have sufficient financial resources at least $500,000(CAD)
2.Expert in farm management skills.
3.Proper investment plans documentation should be provided while submitting your application.
International Graduate Entrepreneur stream
The international graduate Entrepreneur immigration stream(IGEIS) allows Alberta to nominate qualified international graduates from Alberta post-secondary institutions who want to establish or operate a business in Alberta to apply for permanent residence.
Foreign Graduate start-up stream
The foreign Graduate Start-Up Visa stream (FGVS) is an economic immigration program for qualified foreign educated graduates from outside of Canada who want to launch start-up enterprises and innovative businesses in Alberta
